Good morning Hal, Supreme Program Engineer!
My first question is with acknowledgments. Is it possible for the customer discount to be reflected in the email and print out? So they are reminded of how nice I am for giving them a discount..... but thinking about it, I guess you may not want EVERY customer to know their discount. Like say, wholesale accounts? Or would it be easier to make the Quote/Price/Time Sheets under "Print" to make them emailable? (Is that a word?)

Every morning starts with Morning Flight here!
Hi Keith,
I may to have to borrow that phrase some day! Just uploaded new versions (2009.5) yesterday evening. Except for the acknowledgment discounts you brought up this morning, I think everything you asked for earlier made it into the upgrade. Including something I hadn't planned on until after the summer release of shrinkwrapped commercial editions: Digital Carbonless and Envelopes.
See http://www.mymorningflight.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37
As soon as I post the release notes under Announcements this afternoon, I'll take a look at your discount question.

Keith,
I'm not sure we would want to auto-display the discount. You brought up one instance where it wouldn't be appropriate, and I suspect there are others (Surcharges are something else entirely, and it's a given that we wouldn't want to highlight any kind of surcharge. "Because you're a pain and obnoxious, we're going to charge you 10% extra" would not fly well with customers).
But I do have other concerns with itemizing discounts. Namely, that it might
interfere with value-added pricing
set a 'cast in cement' precedent
Once you tell customers they're getting a discount, try backing out and charging full list again! The auto industry learned that lesson the hard way.
For the few cases where you do want to spell out the discount, why not set up a Memo Clip and add it under Remarks when you configure the Acknowledgment?
Let me know.

Yes, you're right. Wouldn't want to set a precedent. I guess I was looking for a little more convenience or something. If I have a discount for a customer, I usually edit the email. That gets tedious. But I think the Memo Clip will work great. I use it for other things so why not the discount? You're so good at programming, you don't have to change the program, you change the operator.:D
I installed the updates and I can't figure out how to do the digital carbonless. And I lost the names to all my digital products. It says "digital" for everything but the envelopes and digital with trim. Is that happening with everyone's update? Not really a big deal for me in particular as I just installed a BRAND NEW XEROX DC252!!!! With a single click for any size, I have to go through all my products and change the press sheet size anyway. My digital product list has been in need of an overhaul for some time. I have been using "digital" way too often.

Oh-oh, Keith, don't put ideas into my head, I might slow down and get lazy. But thanks for the compliment just the same :).
The digital carbonless technique is enough off-topic that I decided to answer it in another thread. See http://www.mymorningflight.com/forum/showthread.php?p=246#post246
As for wiping out your digital product names, my apologies. It was caused by a glitch in the Gold Edition, having to do with Portuguese and the (intentional) elimination of the word "Digital" from some of the descriptions. New setup files were uploaded early this morning.
You were first to download the revised Gold, and because you reported the bug rightaway, it only affected one other user who upgraded, located in Montreal.
Thanks for the catch, Keith. BTW, I knew you were getting the Xerox DC252 from reading your posts on Print Planet. Not sure they're still built here in Rochester, but if so, you're getting good quality!
